Michael “Mike” Orlando Williams, 70, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2024 at 6 pm at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center in Danville, Va. Michael was born on March 28, 1954 in Roxboro, N.C. to the late Ada Mae Cash Williams (Mother) and the late Joseph Richard Williams (Father)
Michael accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Quinn’s Chapel Church, where he served as a choir member and a member of the usher board. He later changed his membership to Compassion Church in Danville, VA, where he served on the media committee.
He was a 1972 graduate of Person High School. Mike attended A&T University to major in history but then later completed a degree in Accounting at NC Central University. Michael later went on to pursue certifications in Information Technology.
Michael’s hobbies and interests included family gatherings, reading books (authors, James Patterson & Tom Clancy) buying on-line gadgets, playing chef, making Honey-Bun cakes, Rotel Dip and teaching Brittany (daughter) how to make his famous Curry Chicken Casserole. Mike enjoyed watching movies (His favorite being Marvels & Sci-Fi), and the History channel.
Michael is survived by two daughters; Brittany Michelle Williams (Charlotte, NC) and LaNita Marie Williams (Baltimore, MD), two sisters; Angela Williams Daye (Thelbert) of Roxboro, NC and Sandra Williams Lipscomb (Sam) of Hillsborough, NC; two nieces, Kimberly Daye of Roxboro, NC and Allison Daye-Sutton (Justin) of Raleigh, NC; two great-nieces, Ava Thomas and Julie Sutton, and a host of other family and friends.
