Anton Chico native Michael A. Gonzales, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013, in Santa Fe. He was born on Sept. 3, 1952, the son of Miguel C. Gonzales and Otilia (Aguilar) Gonzales. The Gonzales family are long time residents of the Anton Chico and La Loma area. Michael was very active in the community and in addition to his many years of service in banking institutions, he served as a school resource officer and a bus driver during his retirement years. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Michael was greatly touched by his presence. He had a positive impact on so many lives. He will forever live in our hearts and survive in our memories.Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Otilia, as well as his brother, Louis Gonzales.He is survived by his wife, Diane (Dizenzo); his children, Michael Gonzales, David Gonzales, Lisa Marie Gonzales, Andrew Melendez and Chrisz Sena; grandchildren are: Rebecca Lujan-Gonzales, Amanda Lujan-Gonzales, Chasity Gonzales, Isaiah Barreras-Gonzales, David Gonzales, Jr., Nicholas Gonzales and Martin Gabaldon. Funeral services will be held at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico as follows: Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m., today (Friday); funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Mondragon at 10 a.m., Saturday. Burial will follow at the San Jose Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Gilbert Velasquez, Elauterio Martinez, Lorenzo (Torque) Gomez, Jamie Lucero and Jacob (Kobo) Bustos.
