Michael A. Pierson, 64, of Montpelier, passed away at 10:21 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at his home in Montpelier. He was born on Sunday, Feb. 17, 1952, in Marion, Ind. Michael attended school in Grant County. He loved being out in the woods looking for arrowheads, and enjoyed going to the James Dean Days with his brothers. Michael helped his father with their horses. He had a favorite bulldog named Star. Many people will remember Mike driving thru town always throwing his hand up to wave and giving them a smile. Loving survivors include: Brothers - Cameron "Cam" (Ofelia) Cravens, Bayard, N.M.; Jim Work, Taylorsville, Ky.; Patrick (Pat) Pierson, Toledo, Ohio, and Frosty Pierson, Anderson, Ind.; Sisters - Donna (Dan) Ryan, Highlands, N.J., and Linda Closer, Marion, Ind., 4 Nieces, 4 Nephews, 11 Great Nieces & Nephews, and Special Friends - Mike "Spook" Speece, Mike Norton and Jody Smith. He was preceded in death by his Father, Forrest Pierson, and Mother, Roma (Calendar) Shackleford. There will be no calling. A family memorial will be held at a later date.
