WILLIAMS, Michael David,Beloved son, brother, nephew and grandchild, Michael David Williams, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017. Michael was a college freshman studying biomedical engineering at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, in Terre Haute, IN. He was home visiting with family when he passed away in Louisville. Two visitations will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 2-4 and 5-6:30 p.m. at Ratterman's Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road in Louisville with a memorial service to follow at 7 p.m. Michael was born on February 23, 1997 in Augusta, GA, to Jennifer Memery Williams of Louisville and Dr. Patrick Williams of Bardstown, KY. He is the eldest brother to Douglas Christian Williams, of Louisville and Caroline Nicole Williams of Bardstown. He is survived by his parents, siblings, grandparents, Caroline and Douglas Memery and his many aunts, uncles and cousins. The family moved several times during his childhood, including to San Antonio, TX, Tacoma, WA, and Fayetteville, NC. The final move was to Louisville, were Michael started 4th grade with his siblings at the Christian Academy of Louisville.While a student at CAL, Michael received numerous awards including the "Rising Scholarship Program" Book Award from the University of Kentucky and the "Yarmouth Book Award" from the University of Louisville. He was selected by Buzz Aldrin as a Delegate to the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2015, representing Christian Academy of Louisville and the Commonwealth of Kentucky. In addition, Michael was twice extended invitations to attend the Summer programs at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Independent of school, Michael was selected and participated in the Engineers of Tomorrow Robotics Program alongside a select group of students from the community. Michael had a brilliant and inquisitive mind. He made the world brighter for those around him. We will miss his smile, his quiet creativity and his love of family. We will always remember him hunting frogs at his grandparents' farm in Virginia, walking the surfs' edge on Cape Cod and his endless quest for knowledge. While we mourn his passing, and the promise of a young life cut short, we celebrate all that he was and all that he brought to our lives."Now cracks a noble heart. Visitation will be 2-4 & 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
