Michael, 32, born and raised in the small east bay town of Moraga, found dead in bedroom by his mother. Paramedics pronounced him dead upon arrival, citing heart failure as the cause of death. Upon obtopsy, lethal amounts of fentanyl, an incredibly potent opiod, were found in his blood. Fentanyl is becoming known as legal heroin, however, it is typically 5 to 10 times stronger than the illegal opiod. Michael had been suffering from adenocarcinoma, or cancer of the stomach, and his mother said without the fentanyl he could not even get out of bed. He is remembered by his mother, Mary Anne, and step father, Michael.
