ANGOLA — Michael D. Holcomb, age 62, of Angola passed away on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at Cameron Memorial Community Hospital. He was born on December 25, 1953, in Angola, the son of Walter W. and Mary Lou (Jones) Holcomb. He graduated from Angola High School in 1972. He married Pamela Jean (Beer) on September 8, 1973, in Angola. He was a builder and carpenter all of his life, and was the owner of D & H Enterprise. He enjoyed playing football for Angola High School, and was a Detroit Lions fan for many years. He enjoyed following his children's and grandchildren's activities and watching his son, Austin, play football. He also loved his dogs, Buddy and Harley. He was a member of the school board for MSD of Steuben County for 24 years, and also served on the Angola City Plan Commission for several years, and was a member of the Angola High School Football "chain gang" for 22 years. Survivors include his wife, Pamela Jean Holcomb of Angola; a daughter, Samantha (Matthew) Newhard of Angola; a son, Austin (Kari) Holcomb of Williamston, Michigan; grandchildren, Nate and Tara Holcomb, and Macy and Vincent Newhard; his mother, Mary Lou Holcomb of Angola; a brother, Kirk Holcomb of Orlando, Florida; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Holcomb) Janus of South Lyon, Michigan, Diana Beer of Fremont, Karen (Jim) Grandin of Angola, and Lana (Woody) Woodring of Fremont; and brothers-in-law, Greg (Cheryl) Beer of Fremont, Todd (Kris) Beer of Fremont and Mark (Terri) Beer of Ashley. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Holcomb; a brother, Neil Holcomb; his mother and father-in-law, Loren and Ramona Beer; and a brother-in-law, Steve Beer. Calling hours will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Beams Funeral Home of Fremont. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at Beams Funeral Home.
