Walker, Michael L., age 45, a resident of the Forest Grove community, died on September 4, 2011 while boating on the Columbia River near Portland, Oregon. Memorial Services are pending. Michael Lon Walker was born on September 16, 1965 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of D. Douglas and Carla M. (Gates) Walker. He was raised and received his education in Wichita, Kansas having been a graduate of North High School with the Class of 1984. Following high school, Michael attended Kansas State University before transferring to George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Business. Michael had also recently received his Masters of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica University, Santa Barbara, California. Michael worked in Marketing and Development at Global Aviation in Hillsboro, Oregon. He always felt it was a privilege to be employed by and associated with Global Aviation and all their employees. Michael was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Amy Porter on July 1, 1989 in Wichita, Kansas. Following their marriage they moved to Oregon having resided in the Forest Grove/Hillsboro Area. Among his special interests, Michael enjoyed water sports, biking, music and most importantly watching his daughter Stevie grow. Michael will be remembered for his outgoing personality, incredible sense of humor and the ability to make everyone feel special. He is survived by his wife, Amy Walker, of Forest Grove, Oregon; his daughter, Stevie Lin Walker, also of Forest Grove, Oregon; his parents, D. Douglas and Carla Walker, of Wichita, Kansas; his sister, Carrie Carter, of Aurora, Colorado. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and his beloved Shepherd/Hound, Jack.
