Michael "Sarge" Lee Blair Michael Lee Blair "Sarge", age 73, of Akron, Ohio, died Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 3:14 p.m. at the Hospice Care Center in Copley. He was born on December 28, 1942 in Akron, the son of the late Charles Milton and Marie Blair, Sr. Mike was a graduate of Buchtel High School. He was an auto mechanic. Sarge was also an honorably discharged U.S. Marine veteran serving during the
Vietnam War. Sarge used to shoot archery when he was younger and he liked to fish. Sarge did visit many of the local VFWs in the area. Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Jo Waggoner, whom he married on November 4, 1979; his daughter, Michelle Blair of Bardstown, Ky.; and one grandson, Darren Durey; and his wife's three children, James E. (Pamela) Zushin, Thomas Zushin, and John (Beverly) Zushin; her five grandchildren, Stephen (Kellie) Zushin, Peter-James (fiance, Laura Sturch) Zushin, Carly Zushin, Benjamin (Alliree) Zushin, and John W. Zushin; her great-grandchildren, Alice Zushin and Benson Zushin. Other than his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his two brothers, Charles Milton Blair, Jr. and Richard "Dick" Blair.The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Hospice Care Center for their loving care of Michael. There will not be any services or visitation and his wishes were that he be cremated. His cremated remains will be buried in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
