Michael "Mike" Lerome Bailey, 58, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 08, 2021 at his home in Dermott, AR.
Mike was born on June 18, 1962 in Dumas, Arkansas to the late Carolyn Harris and was raised by his grandparents, the late Eddie "Jack" Finch Sr. & Arrie Bell Finch.
He graduated Dumas High School in 1980 and moved to Liberal, KS to attend Seward County Community College, where he earned his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. He had an early interest in Law Enforcement, and this was the beginning of his journey in law enforcement - the career that he loved.
After graduation, Mike took a job as secretary for the Liberal, KS Police Department before advancing to police officer. He later moved back to Arkansas and joined the State Capitol Police Department in Little Rock before returning home, and accepting a position at the Dumas, AR Police Department where he served for many years.
Mike's career eventually led him to Lake Village, AR – there he served as a Park Ranger for Lake Chicot State Park and transitioned to the Lake Village Police Department. Which is where he ultimately retired from Policing in the early 2000s. Then continued to be of service to people via the transportation industry, teaching Criminal Justice classes at Dermott High School, running for Chicot County Judge, and Supervising the Lake Village Department of Human Services.
He also had his hat in the gospel music industry, he sang with the Soul Revivals of Liberal, KS; traveled with the Hummingbirds of Dumas, AR; and spent many years managing and traveling with The Racy Brothers of Dumas, AR. He was faithful church member from childhood throughout his life, always finding a way to be of service. He most recently served as a deacon at Antioch Church in Dermott, AR.

Mike leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 11 years-Latishia Bailey, four children: Michelle Bailey, Antoine "Dominique" Bailey (Erica), Michael Bailey II, Charity Bailey; three stepchildren:
Jeanette Reed, Mia Dancy, Mya Dancy; seven grandchildren: Damon Bailey, Alaya Bailey, Zyon Bailey, Zhury Bailey, London Reed, Destiny Bailey-Gary, Daveon Bailey; his sister Bridget Haynes, Uncle Elijah Finch, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
