Michael Lowell Ray Obituary

May 18, 1954 - Jul 27, 2024

This obituary is administered by:

We are sad to announce the passing of Michael Ray, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Michael was born on May 18, 1954, in Portland, OR, where he spent his early years causing mischief and making memories. He attended David Douglas High School, where he graduated in 1972 before continuing his education at Warner Pacific College. Later in life Mike received a master's degree in theology from Ames University.

Throughout his life, Michael worked as a Manager at Fred Meyer, where he excelled at his job until his well-deserved retirement in 2014. He was also known for his dedication to his community, particularly his involvement in the Little League organization out of Williamsport, Pennsylvania for 40 years, where he touched the lives of many young athletes.

On July 27, 2024, Michael passed away suddenly from a heart attack, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be cherished by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bonita Ray, whom he married in 1975, and his three children, Candace Ray (spouse Gary Kay), Kevin Ray, and Shannon Cassidy (spouse Nathan Cassidy). He was also a proud grandfather to eleven grandchildren who adored him.

While we mourn the loss of Michael, let us also remember the joy and humor he brought into our lives. He will be greatly missed, but his spirit will live on in our hearts forever.

We will have a celebration of life on August 17th at the Vancouver Church at 12pm.
