Michael Anthony Modory1951 - 2013Michael Anthony Modory, 62, of Janesville, Wis., passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 6, 2013, in Juneau County.He was born on Jan. 4, 1951, the son of Janet and Emil Modory. Mike married Jackie Yorton and had a handsome son, Jason Modory of Kenosha. He was later married to Linda Chodoronek and had a beautiful daughter, Merissa Modory, also of Kenosha.He was educated in Kenosha, attending St. Anthonys parochial school, Washington Jr. High and Bradford High School.Mike was proud that he served his country during the Vietnam conflict. He was stationed in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971 and served in the army as a helicopter gunner.Mike followed in this fathers footsteps in the family business. He owned and operated Modorys II tavern in Kenosha. After selling the tavern, he worked several years as a construction worker, then became a successful car salesman for many years. At the time of his death, he was a property manager in Janesville.Mike loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Some of his greatest passions were fishing on his boat with his son and daughter, camping with family and friends, riding his Harley, making people laugh and smile, helping others, telling jokes, and he was the greatest at giving you a line with a straight face. Mike was always ready for a quick 15 minute nap, which always meant an hour or two.He had many achievements throughout his lifetime, but his pride in his children and grandchildren surpassed them all.Mike had such a large personality; he touched the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. Mike loved telling stories to everyone he met. His sense of humor was one of his greatest attributes. He lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed life everyday.He is survived by his son, Jason (Stephanie) Modory, and daughter, Merissa Modory; along with his two loving grandchildren, Haley and Kenna Modory; two brothers, Jim Modory and Paul Thomas (PT) Modory; He is also survived by one of his best friends and companions, Mary Hansen and her children, Christina Hansen, Joe Hansen, and Alyssa Hansen.Preceded in death by his parents, Jane and Emil Modory; and two sisters, Susie and Debbie Modory.Mikes wishes were to have a party in celebration of his life. Come celebrate Mikey-style and toast to a great man. Family and friends are invited on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, from 5 p.m. until 12 a.m. at Parkway Chateau (Brat Stop) Entrance C.Memorial donations can be sent to Jason Modory; 6524 92nd Avenue, Kenosha, WI 53142.Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, Mike had a smile that you could trust, so I am begging you Lord, with tears in my eyes, let him ride his Harley through Heavens skies.
