He was born on September 21, 1977, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Robert and Sharon Close.Michael worked as an electrician technician and was a proud member of Local Union 347. Michael loved his family. He enjoyed playing video games, fishing, walking his dog, dancing, grilling, doing practical jokes, helping and giving to anyone whenever he could.He is survived by his wife, Jo Close; mother, Sharon (Dr. Robert) Maas; sister, Corissa "Cory" Wilson; sons, Cody Close and Tyler Close; daughter, Brittney Close; granddaughter, Alexandria Close; aunt, Donna Gardner; nieces, Makayla and Miranda Wilson, and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Robert Close, Jr. and his step-father, Richard Yeager.Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by funeral service at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Lutheran Church of Hope Ankeny, 520 NW 36th St, Ankeny, IA 50023.Memorial contributions may be directed to Michael's family.
