RED LION Corporal Michael (Mike) Seth Georgiou, 35, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2014 in Texas due to injuries sustained in ATV accident. A public memorial service by the York Area Regional Police Department, will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, August 15, 2014 at the Living Word Community Church, 2530 Cape Horn Road, Red Lion, with Corp. Keith G. Dyke, Chaplain officiating. Mike was born on November 30, 1978 in Houston, Tx, beloved son of Kim Georgiou of Point Blank, Tx, and Dusty Strader and Christie of Tarkington Prairie, Tx. He served as a
police officer with the York Area Regional Police Department in York, for the past 11 years. He was a Ranger in the U.S. Army, qualified for Airborne and participated in riding bulls in the rodeos in his hometown. He was the Professional Rodeo and Cowboy Association rookie of the year for roping in 2008 and won a buckle in a competition in Harrisburg in 2011, awarded for winning one round and nearly winning the title. Left also to cherish his memory is his loving daughter, Mikaela Devann Georgiou of Afton, VA; brothers, Sean Georgiou and wife Jennifer of New Caney, Tx, Patrick Georgiou of Stafford, Tx; sisters, Laura Georgiou of Stafford, Tx, Michelle Agrons of Houston, Tx. Jackie Gagliardi of Houston, Tx, Jeannine Broyles of Houston, Tx. Numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other loving family and host of treasured friends. Mike had numerous others in his life he considered his "brothers from another mother" Brian Torkar, Jason Miller, James Strader, Marty Wells, Bobby Herren, JR Myers, Robbie Morgan, Chance Morgan and Chance Ward and "sister from another mister" Crystal Strader.
