TERRANOVA Michael, Sr. Loving Father, Grandfather and Uncle Michael Terranova, Sr., 87, of Lavallette (Silver Beach), NJ passed away on February 12, 2017, while vacationing in Florida with his son Michael. A celebration of Michael's life will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2017 from 2-6 PM at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home at 1313 Van Houten Ave, Clifton, NJ 07013 followed by a funeral mass on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Michael was born on February 14, 1929 in Hackensack, NJ to the late Concetta (nee Tarsitano) and Pasquale Terranova and was known as "Lefty" and later, after grandchildren arrived, as "Poppy." Michael grew up in Passaic, NJ, attended Passaic public schools and obtained his GED while serving in the U.S. Army Air Force. In his younger days, Michael loved playing sports of all kinds, especially baseball, softball and bowling. He was a lifelong die-hard New York Yankee and Notre Dame football fan. His idols were Joe DiMaggio and Frank Sinatra. For 55 years, Michael was a highly skilled and respected master carpenter, specializing in home improvements. Michael was a partner in Advance Builders with his late brother Vincent for many years after which he was employed by Garden State Construction as foreman for nearly forty years. Michael was predeceased by his beloved wives Mary Terranova (nee Fitzpatrick) and Dolores Terranova (nee DeNaples), cherished son, Victor Terranova, grandson, Ian McGoldrick, and siblings, Vincent Terranova and Mary Tropona. Michael will be dearly missed by his loving children: Laura Musciotto, James Terranova (Denise); Debra Agnello (John); Anthony Musciotto (Diana); Barbara McDonald; Michael Terranova, Jr.; Cathy McGoldrick (Patrick); Linda Kluska; Lisa Terranova, and Michael Musciotto (Linda). Poppy was the cherished grandfather to: Kristi Terranova-Jankowski (Trevor); Patrick McGoldrick, Jr.; James B. Terranova (Stefania); Elyse Agnello; Traci Fitzgerald (Daniel); David Musciotto; Kelly Terranova; Timothy McGoldrick; Lindsey Christiana (Edwin); Ryan Musciotto; Mary Rose McDonald; William Kluska, Jr.; Alyssa Terranova; Anthony Musciotto; Sean Kluska; Caroline Terranova, and Matthew Musciotto. Michael is also survived by many caring nieces and nephews. After they married in 1974, Michael and his late wife Dolores (Del) purchased a summer home in Silver Beach in Ocean County where so many wonderful memories were created which will never be forgotten by his family. Michael was famous for cooking Sunday breakfast for family and guests and French toast, pancakes and waffles were his specialty with Sinatra tunes blaring in the background for everyone's listening pleasure. Michael and Del also enjoyed many weekend trips to Harrah's Casino & Hotel in Atlantic City. Poppy was a devoted grandfather to his 18 grandchildren and over the last 35 years attended their countless sporting events, cheerleading competitions, bowling tournaments, dance recitals, communions, confirmations, and graduations. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations to the and the in Michael's memory.
