WOHL, MICHAEL,WOHL, MICHAEL ALAN,70, of Louisville, passed away suddenly Wednesday, November 2, 2016, while he was vacationing in California with his wife (LeVonne), sister (Barbara) and brother-in-law (Mohammad).Michael was born on September 30, 1946, in Louisville, KY, the son of Margaret (C.C.) Lyons and Raymond Wohl. He is a 1964 graduate of Trinity High School and attended Bellarmine College (now University) until enlisting in the United States
Army. After having served in Vietnam, he was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant in 1969. He married the love of his life, LeVonne Amshoff, in May 1968, and they were blessed with two loving children, Laura Cassin (Stephen) and Kevin (Kimberly Metzger) and subsequently with four grandchildren (Amelia and Andrew Cassin; Kaitlyn and Keegan Wohl). Prior to his retirement, Michael pursued a career in the transportation industry.In his younger years, Michael excelled in sports, baseball in particular, and he remained a sports enthusiast throughout his life, as a golfer and Louisville Cardinal fan. After his retirement, he and LeVonne traveled the globe together. Their lives were abruptly interrupted in 2003, when Michael suffered a severe heart attack which necessitated a heart transplant. Thanks to the excellent medical care that he received, Michael was able to live a full life as a family man, and faithful and generous friend to many. His four grandchildren were the pride and the delight of his life.Michael was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Raymond Thomas, who died as an infant.In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, Michael is survived by five siblings: Barbara Taghavi (Mohammad); Kathy Peters (Keith); Tim (Kim); David; Geoff (Cindy). Survivors also include two aunts, Kathleen and Ann Lyons, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 10:00 a.m, 7500 Tangelo Drive, with Entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Ellison Avenue at Barret.
