Mildred Elizabeth (Beckett) Grafton, 94, of Kittanning went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, in the ACMH Hospital.
She was born on July 10, 1922, in Boggsville to the late Clarence and Emma Estella (Steele) Beckett.
Mildred for many years cleaned houses, worked for Ishman Slaughterhouse, and was an owner of Bowser Feed Store in Worthington along with her husband, Warren.
She was a member of Center Hill Church of the Brethren, which she attended regularly and was also currently the oldest living and charter member of the Worthington/ West Franklin Volunteer Fire Department.
Mrs. Grafton loved her flower garden and attending carnivals, fairs, and festivals.
Mildred leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons, Donald (Virginia) Grafton of Kittanning and Richard (Sharon) Grafton of Worthington; two daughters, Kathy Carlesi and friend, Rich, of Kittanning and Cindy (Jerry) Claypool of Worthington; 11 grandchildren, Susan (Thomas) Edgington, Douglas (Cindy) Grafton, Sonja McClain, Renee Grafton, Scott (Deanna) Carlesi, Trevor Carlesi, Angela (Dan) Ishman, Christopher (Rene) Claypool, Erick (Amy) Claypool, Joshua Claypool, and Justin Claypool; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Grafton; and one brother, Jay Frank Beckett
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren "Dip" Grafton, who went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2006; two sons, Edward and Floyd James Grafton; one brother, Floyd Beckett and an infant brother, LeRoy Beckett; and one sister, Sarah Grafton.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, June 30, 2017, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington and Saturday, July 1, 2017, from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral services at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Peters officiating. Burial will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates. Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund at Center Hill Church of the Brethren, 2039 Freeport Road, Kittanning, Pa. 16201.
