Mildred Lucille Beaver Lindhout, a lifelong member of the Church of Christ (West University in Houston and later in Kingwood) and devout follower of Christ, died Friday, November 6, 2015. She was born on October 1, 1920 in Petrolia, Texas. After five brothers, Mildred was the first daughter of the ten children born to Joe and Beulah Beaver. She spent much of her childhood picking cotton and caring for younger siblings. After graduating from high school at 16, she later went on to receive her BSN in Fort Worth and then her MBA at Sacred Heart Dominican College in Houston. She started her professional career working for Hermann Hospital and Methodist Hospital where she was the assistant director of surgical nursing and worked with both Dr. Denton Cooley and Dr. Michael DeBakey. She also worked for Bellaire General Hospital and for Kelsey Seybold Clinic.Mildred and husband Charles spent countless hours supporting and volunteering at The Cullen Center for Special Needs Individuals and with Special Olympics swimming. She was an active member in the West University Church of Christ for 45 years. During those years she and Charles opened their Bellaire, TX home to families in need of close access to the medical center and they transported people to doctors' appointments as well as helping them to navigate the medical system.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Beulah Beaver and her husband John Carter Wilson, daughter Donna Jean Katzman, her husband Charles Stolp Lindhout and eight of her nine siblings. Mildred is survived by her children, Barbara Dickinson of Conroe, TX, Charles W. Lindhout (Camille) of Roman Forest, TX, Jane Lindhout (Carrie Whitney) of Cedar Hills, UT and Lisa Lindhout of Willis, TX; her sister, Margaret Inez Nicholls of Beaumont, TX; surviving grandchildren include Laurance Dickinson (Shawn) of Conroe, TX, Todd Dickinson of Spring, TX, Carrie Thomasson of Belton, TX, Dr. Brett Katzman (Laura) of Alpharetta, GA, Jeffery Katzman of Atlanta, GA, Scott Katzman (Annissa) of Dallas, GA, Dr. Rebecca Trump (Jesse) of Timonium, MD, Trevor Lindhout (Valene) of Houston, TX, Cara Heiman (David) of The Woodlands, TX, and Hallee Whitney-Lindhout of Cedar Hills, UT. She is survived by 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great- granddaughter.

Mildred was a woman who loved God and her family and spent her life serving others. She also loved to camp, to fish, to eat homemade ice cream, to attend family reunions and to play dominoes. She was loved and will be missed.

A visitation time will precede the funeral service celebrating Mildred's life at 2:30 pm at the Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 US-59, Kingwood, TX 77339 on Friday, November 13, 2015. The funeral will begin at 3:00 pm. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 12:30 pm in Burkburnett, Texas at the Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery where she will be laid to rest in the Beaver family plot next to her first husband and her parents. In lieu of flowers, Mildred requested that donations be made to New Danville for Special Needs Individuals in Willis, TX. The website is www.newdanville.org.
