Mildred Louise Passe Obituary

Jan 28, 1933 - Jan 07, 2016

This obituary is administered by:
Mildred (Millie) Louise Passe, age 83, passed away peacefully at Lynden Christian Healthcare on October 7th, 2016. She was born on January 28th, 1933 in Nelson, Wisconsin to Nels and Rachel Fuher, the only girl and youngest of 4 children. Mildred graduated from Nelson High in 1950, Salutatorian of her class. As a cheerleader at Nelson High she met a football player from nearby Wabasha, Minnesota, Wayne Passe whom she married in 1952. The next 20 years were spent traveling the world as the wife of an Air Force man. This traveling is shown by the birth of her 4 children, Mark born in Monterey, CA, Linda born in Oak Harbor, WA, Bruce born in Minneapolis, MN and Craig born in Madrid, Spain. During her working career, she worked as a secretary for 15 years for various businesses and her greatest pleasure was that of being secretary at an elementary school. In 1970, they retired from the Air Force to Kasilof, Alaska. Living on the banks of the Kasilof River she continued to raise her children until one by one they left home. Her children were the center of her life and she provided a loving and caring home for them. For 15 years she assisted Wayne in a General Contracting business as the bookkeeper and other assorted responsibilities. During her down time, Millie enjoyed sewing, ceramics and needle work. She enjoyed having family over and doting over her grandchildren and later great grandchildren. In 1993 Wayne and Millie retired to Ryderwood, WA. In Ryderwood they got involved in in making various crafts and enjoyed traveling to various craft shows to sell their crafts. After Wayne passed away in 1999, Millie spent a couple years in Auburn near her daughter Linda and then moved to Sumas with Mark, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She then resided at Christian Healthcare due to ill health. The family wants to thank all the workers there for the loving compassionate care they gave Millie as well as all the other residents. She is survived by her children, Mark Passe of Sumas, WA, Linda Evans of Auburn, WA, Bruce Passe of Soldotna, AK and Craig Passe of Yakima, WA; 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Wayne, Parents, and brothers Lester, George and Kenneth Fuher and daughter-in-law Susan Passe. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, October 29th at 2:00 p.m. at the Valley Church 904 Nooksack Ave, Everson, WA 98247.
