It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Mildred Martin on January 18, 2017. Mildred was born on August 19, 1931 in Athabasca to Esther and Ly (Eloi) Satterlee. Mildred spent most of her life in the Athabasca area. She grew up in the Colinton area and moved west of Meanook after she and Clarence were married in 1950. In addition to farming and working various jobs off the farm, Mildred became a mother to Sylvia in 1952 and Terry in 1963. Leaving the farm, Mildred and Clarence moved to Colinton and then to their farm near Perryvale. In 2014 they moved to Pleasant Valley Lodge. Mildred worked more then 20 years at the Athabasca Hospital before retiring. She leaves to mourn her loss her Husband Clarence, Children: Sylvia (Randy), and Terry (Anita), Grandchildren: Curtis (Rose), Christie (Jason), Lee Jay (Kristen), and Calla (Jordan), Great Grandchildren: Kolton, Tyler, Aurora, Kaycee and Cassandra. As well as Brothers Bob (Carol) and Dick (Sarah) Benson, sister Barb Williams, sister-in-law Pearl Day, brothers-in-law Dave Martin, Fred Martin (Elsie) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families. Mildred touched many lives and will be greatly missed. We would like to express our sincerest appreciation and Thanks to all those who have helped us through this difficult time. A Special Thank You to Dr. Esterhuizan and the staff at the Athabasca Health Care Centre (Pod 2), to Roger and the staff at Pleasant Valley Lodge, to Athabasca Community Health Services (Homecare), and Christina at the Athabasca Community Chapel. Your care and Kindness will be a treasure to us all for years to come. In Lieu of flowers, Mildred has asked that donations be made to your favorite charity or organization. A Private family service was held at Mildred's request.
