Marshall, Mildred R.,77, entered peacefully into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by her family at home, on Sunday November 6, 2016. She was born on June 14, 1939 to her late parents, George and Alene Woods.Mildred was a member of St. Stevens Church and was graduated from Central High School, class of 1957. She was the first black woman to work on Fourth Street in Louisville at the W.T. Grant Department Store, located on the corner of 4th & Chestnut Streets. She retired from General Electric Appliance Park after 35 years of service, where she also served as Shop Steward and was honored in 1996 for superior performance among manufacturing. Mildred was the founder and president of the Lades of the 80's Social Club for the entirety of the club's existence. Mildred's passion was her family and being of service to others. She loved life and was always surrounded by her many friends. Preceding her in death besides her parents, were her siblings, Virginia Debarlabon, Clark Vernon "CV" Woods, and Alice Bynum.She is survived by her daughter, Marva Jeanette (Richard) Dockery; Granddaughter, Donique "Dimples" (Marshall) Hobbs-Pence; Great-grandson Dillon Hobbs and special friend, Sellis "Bear" Lewis.Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. on Friday and funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home on Preston Highway.
