Mildred S. CrawfordDAVENPORT - Mildred Crawford, of Davenport, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017 at Crest Health Care at Ridgecrest Village, Davenport. She lived each of 92 years to the fullest. A Memorial Service for Mildred will be held at 10am on Friday, August 4, 2017 at the Koning Chapel at Ridgecrest Village. Visitation will be from 9am until time of service at the Chapel. Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded prior to the service. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.Mildred Shirley Achziger was born on March 11, 1925 in Fort Collins, CO, a daughter of Fred and Katherine (Deines) Achziger. She married Donald Lee Crawford on February 3, 1946, while he was home on leave from the US Navy. After Don finished his service with the Navy, they lived in Fort Collins and Red Feather Lakes, CO, until 2004 when they moved to Iowa to be near family. Don preceded her in death on April 2, 2015.She was employed by Poudre School District in Fort Collins as a media specialist/librarian until she retired in 1984. After Don and Mildred retired they travelled the country with their motorhome group which they really enjoyed. Mildred was a kind loving person who was adored by many. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing games and cooking. She loved to laugh, have fun and could find the humor in most any situation.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ridgecrest Village.Surviving are her children, Michael (Isela) Crawford, LaBelle, FL., Roger (Kris) Crawford, Blue Grass, IA; grandchildren, Tim (Jamie) Crawford, Firestone, CO, Tamara Crawford, Loveland, CO, Angela Crawford and Sebastian Crawford, LaBelle, FL, Tiffany Jones, Davenport and Cody Crawford, Blue Grass; great grandchildren, Corinthia, Brooklyn, Trinity, and Fisher; and brother, Robert Achziger of Huntington Beach, CA. In addition to her husband Don, sisters, Rachel Doremus, Selma Schramm and Maxine Lord and brothers, Don and Richard Achziger, preceded her in death.The family would like to give a special thanks to the physicians, nurses and caregivers of Ridgecrest village and Genesis Hospice for their tender care during last stage of her life.Online condolences and remembrances may be expressed to the family by visiting Mildred's obituary at
