Mr. Miles R. Brown, 76, of 214 S. Sycamore Street, Petersburg, Va., departed this life to be with the Lord on Monday, July 31, 2017, after a short period of declining health. He was born on July 17, 1941, to the late George and Sallie Brown in Sussex County, Va.He retired from Henry C. Lunford Company with thirty-five years as a construction worker and cemetery finisher. After Miles' retirement he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching Westerns, cooking, repairing cars and he was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.Mr. Brown is survived by: four children, Veronica Pritchett (Carlton) of Prince George, VA, Shelia A. Brown of Dinwiddie, VA, Nicholas A. Brown, Sr. (Yulander) of Colorado Springs, CO and Adria D. Cunningham (Darian ) of Raleigh, NC; former wife, Laura Brown of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Anton D. Brown, Quavalentaye Brown, Nicholas Brown, Jr., Dommick and Hannah Brown, Ashely Cunningham and Amber Cunningham; one sister, Catherine Parham of Richmond, VA; two sisters-in-law, Carrie Lee Taylor and Elise Parham, both of Stony Creek, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.Service for Mr. Miles R. Brown will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, Va., the Rev. Edward L. Fox, eulogist.
