Smith, Millicent "Milly" 93 of Mesa, AZ, passed away on February 4, 2017. Milly was born on September 27, 1923 in Garden Village, Michigan. By 1935 she had moved to Manistique, MI where she worked for a major department store chain. She met and married Harold E. Smith on May 3, 1941. During the World War II years, Harold and Milly both worked for Ford's Willow Run B-24 plant, where Milly worked as a "Rosie the Riveter", riveting parts for aircraft and eventually becoming a B-24 Aileron QC Inspector. After WWII, they moved to Texas until Harold retired in 1980, at which time they moved to Leisure World in Mesa, AZ. Milly is preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Lynn Smith, and her husband of 65 years, Harold Smith. Harold passed away in December, 2001. Milly is survived by several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Mountain View Funeral Home in Mesa, AZ. Family will greet friends for a visitation from 9:30-10:30am, followed by a memorial service at 10:30 and entombment at Mountain View Cemetery, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ 85207. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Leisure World Library Fund or .
