Milton E. "Ace" Hamlin, age 90, of Corning passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Corning Hospital with his family at his side. Ace was born on October 11, 1926 in Hornell, NY, the son of the late Clinton and Mary G. (Dungan) Hamlin. He married Patricia Ann Kull on November 4, 1950 in Hornell, NY. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was employed as an installer and repairman by the New York Bell Telephone Co. for 40 years. Ace was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time with his family at his cottage on Cayuga Lake. He cherished his family and would often talk about how proud and blessed he was with his family and friends. Ace was a generous man, who loved life and made the most out of it even through the toughest times. His strength and spirit was contagious and inspirational for those around him.Ace is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Patricia A. Hamlin of Corning; daughters: Cynthia (Hank) Davis of Houston, TX, Donna (Richard) Henschel of Frenchtown, NJ and Susan (Larrie) Wheaton of Campbell; grandchildren: Sara, Robert and Chris Henschel, Holly (Jeffrey) Drumm, Rebecca Wheaton; great grandchildren: Ellie McPeek, and Bentley and Isabella Drumm; brother, Richard Hamlin of Almond; and several nieces and nephews and "Buddy", who he thought was the perfect old person dog. It was Ace's wish that there be no formal services. Burial will take place in the family plot at Chapel Knoll Cemetery, Painted Post at the convenience of the family.
