Milton Nelson Jr. passed away on Sunday, October 6th,2024. He was born on August 12, 1960, in Jefferson City, MO, to Milton Nelson Sr and Emma J. Nelson. He is survived by his stepmother Rhoda Nelson, his sisters Jeanette Nelson, Alvester (Robert) Dunson, Sharon Grant, Darlene Farr and Candice Nelson; his brother, Earl Hines; his children, Latasha (Demetrius) Gholston, Juanna Nelson, Natoya (Chris) Brown, Ellana (Garcia) Major, Lisa (Aaron) Fountain, Tina Nelson,Sheena Knight, D'andre Nelson, Shelia Nelson, Noah Nelson and Aneia Nelson, 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, his loving companion
Moneshenia Harris and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Milton and Emma Nelson, his brother Sylvester Nelson, and his sisters Yvonna Johnson and Marie Russell.
JR graduated from Martin Luther King High School in 1981 and later pursued a career as a welder. Working for several companies in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida, region and more recently in Gary, Indiana, he utilized his Mig & Tig welding skills to contribute to the success of organizations and to encourage others to join the trade. In September of 2022, he officially retired, passing the welding torch and his supplies to his grandson, Tremont Nelson.
Truly, to know JR was to love him. He was kind, friendly and often the life of the party. His infectious smile and contagious laughter will be remembered by everyone who knew him.
He will also be remembered for his hilarious sayings,
"Unbelievable Man" being the most popular. He was truly a unique and genuine person who never met a stranger and strived to take care of the people he loved. For all of these reasons, he will be greatly cherished and missed by his family and a multitude of friends.
