Mrs. Minnie Ruth Griffin, of Garden City, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Memorial Health University Medical Center surrounded by her loving and devoted family.
Minnie Ruth was a native of Girard, Georgia and lived in Savannah most of her life. She attended the public school of Burke County and was a graduate of Waynesboro High Industrial School in Waynesboro, Ga. At an early age she joined and was baptized at Smith Chapel A.M.E Zion Church Girard. After moving to Savannah she joined Townsley Chapel A.M.E. Church where she sang in the choir.
Minnie Ruth was retired from Gulfstream Aerospace as an Aircraft Electrician.
Minnie was preceded by her parents, Marvin and Julia White Mobley, Sr; her husband, Robert Griffin, Sr.; a daughter, Emma Jean Fields; two sisters, Evelyn Hackle and Julia Holmes.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Robert Griffin, Jr. of Garden City, Ga.; one daughter, Jacquelyn Griffin (Anthony) Bailey of Savannah, Ga.; a son-in-law, Thomas Fields of Savannah, Ga.; two sisters, Wilmatine Washington of Girard, Ga., and Carol (Jesse) Hurston of Portwentworth, Ga.; three brothers, Marvin Mobley Jr., of Garden City, Ga., Judson (Betty) Mobley of Girard, Ga., Burnie (Marcy) Mobley of Huston, Tx; 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 1 godbrother, Charles Bennett (Mary), 1 godsister, Lorraine Ryans (Benjamin) and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and other relatives.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Smith Chapel AME Zion Church

Interment - Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetary (Girard, Ga)
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday at Townsley Chapel AME Church 252 Eagle St. Savannah, GA 31401
The cortege will leave the residence 10:00 a.m. Saturday.
