Misao Kawahira of Salinas passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, August 26, 2015. She was born on November 5, 1924 in Kagoshima, Japan.
In 1960, she immigrated to the United States and has been a resident of Salinas Since 1968.
Misao was a member of the Salinas Buddhist Temple and also belonged to the Engan Nansatsu Doshikai Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Meizo Kawahira and son-in-law, Etsuo Yamaguchi.
She is survived by her son, Akira (Lillian) Kawahira of Salinas, daughter, Atsuko Yamaguchi of Salinas, her grandchildren, Nicole Kawahira of So. San Francisco, Casey Kawahira of Salinas, Rick (Yayoi) Yamaguchi of Salinas, Tony (Jaime) Yamaguchi of La Habra, CA., great grandchildren, Sayuri and Sumire Yamaguchi of Salinas, and Airi Yamaguchi of La Habra, CA
