Mittie Muriel Byrne LUBBOCK-Mittie Muriel Byrne, 89, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on Oct. 31, 2016. A visitation for family and friends will be held, Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sanders Funeral Home. The funeral service for Mittie will be held Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, at 82nd and Avenue V. Church of Christ at 10 a.m. with burial following at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2016, at Laughlin Cemetery in Alex, OK. Mittie was born on Nov. 17, 1926, to Earnest and Mable Williamson in Mountain View, OK. On April 29, 1950, Mittie was married to Billy Byrne until his death in Nov. of 2007. She was always faithful and true to him. Mittie was fond of sewing and always had new outfits for her children. She had a heart of gold, and there was not one sporting event in which her kids participated that she was not there to see. She was a lifelong Church of Christ member. She is survived by son, Joe Byrne of Lubbock; son, Mark and his spouse, Janice Byrne of Alex, OK; four grandchildren, Carma, Erin, Isaac and Kenton; nine great-grandchildren; nieces Charlotte Burt, Judy Blasing, Nan Hamilton; nephews, Mike Byrne, Larry and Doug Rundle, Dick and Dave Williamson; and sister-in-law, Trudy Williamson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy T. Byrne; parents, Mable and Earnest Williamson; and brother, Lavone Williamson. The family would like to thank Ernie and Debbie from Young at Heart Assisted Living in Wolfforth. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Lubbock Meals on Wheels.
