Moe MekelburgOur beloved husband, father and grandfather Maurice (Moe) John Mekelburg passed away on December 30, 2016 peacefully and courageously in his own home with family by his side. Moe was born on September 5, 1936 in Yuma, Colorado to Edward Leon Mekelburg and Aveline Fletcher Mekelburg. In 1954 Moe enlisted in the US Air Force, specializing in Airforce Radar and in 1957 he was honored with the Airman of the month award. In 2006 Moe married his wife Jeanne Yerke Mekelburg, enjoying 10 wonderful years of marriage and sharing a life surrounded with family and friends. They enjoyed traveling together whether it be camping with the motor home or a fabulous trip to Italy, where Moe performed with his choir for Mozart's 125 Birthday Celebration. Jeanne and Moe fought his 10-year battle with Lymphoma Cancer together, sharing in this battle brought them closer, developing a new, deeper love for one another.Moe always enjoyed ballroom dancing with his wife at the Elks Club or an afternoon on the golf course.
