Mollie Elizabeth Timpe, 93, of Sterling went home to be with the Lord on October 5, 2016 at her home in Sterling. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday, Oct. 10 at Tennant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at the First Christian Church with Ken Marlow officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Mollie was born on January 13, 1923 in Eskdale, CO to Samuel and Marie (Wolfram) Rediess. She grew up in the Gary and Brush area. She gave her Public Confession in Sept. 1939 at a Tent Revival in Fort Morgan. She was baptized May 11, 1941 at the First Christian Church in Fort Morgan. She attended grades 1 to 8 at the Pleasant Ridge School. She earned her GED May 1981 at Northeastern Junior College. She married Dr. Lon "Doc" Whitson Timpe on June 20, 1946 in Fort Morgan. They were married 63.5 years. Together they ranched, built a veterinary practice, and raised the four children they adopted: Calvin, Allan, Laural, and Ruth. Mollie was a homemaker, worked as Lon's nurse and bookkeeper for his veterinarian practice. She was a Den mother for the Cub Scouts Den 5 for many years. Mollie was a member of the First Christian Church and the Sterling Does. Mollie and Lon were named Grand Marshals of the Logan County Fair in 2003. She enjoyed painting, drawing, writing stories and poems. Mollie was always taking pictures of her children, grandchildren, and family. She made photo albums for them all. She loved spending time with her family. Mollie also enjoyed going to garage sales and to the Farmer's Market. Mollie is survived by her sons, Calvin Timpe of Aurora, CO and Allan Timpe of Camp Meeker, CA; daughters Laural Brownell and husband Mike of Fleming and Ruth Klein and husband Jerald of Sterling; grandchildren, Adelaide and Arthur Timpe of Camp Meeker, Audrey Brownell of Fleming, Craig and Jill Brownell of Sterling, Andrew Klein and Bronson Klein of Fort Collins; great-grandchildren Gabriel and Caitlin Brownell of Fleming and Ethan Brownell of Sterling; brother-in-law Dr. George Breniman of Windsor; sister-in-laws Marian Timpe of Denver and Margaret Timpe of Fort Morgan. Also survived is good friend and caretaker Barsha Daily of Sterling; foster daughter Berenice Contreras and family of Brush, son-in-law Francis Ertle, Chris and Dennis from Sterling. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Lon "Doc" Timpe, her parents, Samuel and Marie Rediess; brothers Edward and Arthur Rediess, in-laws Karl and Mary Timpe; brother-in-laws Theodore, Gordon, Richard, and Earl Timpe, sister-in-laws Peggy Rediess, Marjorie Timpe, and Alice Timpe Breniman.
