Molly ValdezMolly Valdez, beautiful spirit and the foundation to our family, passed away peacefully on her 91st birthday. She was born on March 5, 1926, to Lee and Lena Chavez in Ingleside, CO (near Owl Canyon). She married Al Valdez on August 17, 1947 and they were married 61 years until his death in 2008.Molly, a Fort Collins native, was a professional cake decorator for many years and was driven to inspire and create beauty in whatever she worked on. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, canning and was well known for her fabulous pies. Above all, she will be remembered for her loving spirit, kindness and compassion for everyone in her life that was fortunate enough to have met her.She is survived by daughter, Veronica; three grandchildren: Denise, Dawn, Eric (Kristen); and four great-grandchildren, Cody, Ryland, Spencer, and Sam. She is also survived by her sisters, Angie Valdez of San Diego; Dee Levett of Fort Collins; and two brothers: Raymond (Christina) Chavez of Loveland, and Harold (Margaret) Chavez of Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Al; two brothers, Ben and Art; and her parents.A Rosary followed by Mass will take place at 12:30PM on Monday, March 13, 2017 at Holy Family Church of which she was a longtime member. Interment at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may send condolences to the family at
