Mona J. MyersNEWARK: A funeral service for Mona J. Myers will be held at 12pm on Friday, June 16, 2016 at Brucker Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21 Street, Newark, OH. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the funeral home. Mona, age 80, of Newark, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Chestnut House. She was born on December 22, 1936 in Adamsville, OH to the late Willis and Bessie (Pyers) Shroyer. Mona obtained her BSN from Ohio University, Master degree in Nursing from the Ohio State University, and her diploma from White Cross School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 60 years, 20 years of which was spent teaching at COTC. She was a member of First Presbyterian in Downtown, Newark, the American Legion Axillary, and the Ohio Nurses Association. In her free time, Mona loved to Sew, knit, garden, and bake. More than anything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mona is survived by her daughters, Karen (Mike) Lott, and Diane (Joe) Paul, both of Newark; sisters, Frances Berry, of Dresden, and Eda (Richard) Todd, of Covington, WA; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
