Morris "Little Buddy" Price, Jr. on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at the age of 82, Morris Price, Jr entered into eternal rest at Touro Infirmary Hospital while surrounded by his love ones. Morris Price, Jr. was born on May 24, 1934 to the late Morris Price, Sr and Kattie Fields Price in Wisner, LA. Soon after, he became a native of Sicily Island, LA. He has been a resident of New Orleans, LA since January 1965. Morris Price, Jr was the loving husband of Georgia Lee Crossley Price for 64 years; father of Morris Price, III; Georgia (Danatus) King, Sr; Helen (Eugene) Forrest, Jr; Henry Price; Kattie Price (Warner) LeBlanc; Mary (Robert) Reid; Robert (Sheila) Price; brother of Dennis Price, Rosie L. Wesley, Bertha Lockhart; brother-in-law of Ellis Lee Crossley and Lucy Crossley (Charles) Spencer; brother of the late Emill "Pat" Price, Mack McClain Armstrong, Irma Sorrell, Nell E Jones, Martha Munerlyn and Dorothy Price; Son-in-law of the late Walter (Marcell Tolliver) Crossley, Sr; brother-in-law of the late Walter (Jacqueline Murphy) Crossley, Jr. Mr. Price is survived by 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Also, preceded in death by 1 grandchild. Morris Price, Jr worked tirelessly to provide a great life for his family. While residing in Sicily Island, LA he worked as a Sharecropper. After relocating his family to New Orleans, LA in 1965, he was employed as a Freight Handler with Local Union 854 Steam Ship Company until 1982 due injury; in 1982 he established and operated Price Grocery Store, S. Liberty St, New Orleans. In 1988, he passed Price Grocery Store to his wife, Georgia Price. Later in 1988, he began doing lawn care for individuals throughout the City and he maintained a vegetable garden near the Lafitte Project until Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Morris Price, Jr accepted Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior while living in Sicily Island, LA and he was baptized there during 1964. Upon settling in New Orleans, he, along with his wife and seven (7) children joined Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church. About mid 1980, he was ordained and began faithfully serving as a Deacon at Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He continued in this position until being overcome by illness in 2015. Visitation will began at 9:00 am on Saturday, October 29, 2016 followed by Celebration of Life at 10:00 am at Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 2108 St. Anthony Street, New Orleans, LA 70119; Pastor Donnie W. Brown, Sr Officiating; arrangements by Duplain W. Rhodes Funeral Home, N. Claiborne St., New Orleans.
