Matisko, Myra(Myra) Joyce Matisko, 83, of Appleton, passed away on July 21, 2017 at Renaissance Assisted Living in Appleton, Wisconsin. Joyce was born on May 19, 1934 in Hargett, Kentucky to the late Earl Henderson and Rosa V. (Larrison) Henderson. Joyce spent her early life and received her education in Ohio, attending Fairhaven Elementary School and graduating from Dixon High School. On September 24, 1955 she married Stephen M. Matisko in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Richmond, Indiana. She and Steve lived in Richmond for 50 years, where she enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother for their two children. Later she enjoyed gardening and painting, and was very active in the Catholic Church, most notably as a leader in the RCIA program which educates prospective converts in all aspects of the Catholic beliefs and practices.Joyce is survived by her two children; Vincent (Diane Kehr) Matisko of Appleton and Susan Matisko, also of Appleton, by her grandchildren; Matt (Kim Manning) Matisko of Glendale, Beth Matisko of Fond du Lac, and Andy Matisko of Milwaukee, by one great-grandchild: T.R. Matisko of Glendale, by her brother Earthel Henderson, of Texas, and also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years; Stephen Matisko and her sister; Zovada (Coy, Wagner) Henderson.A Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Pius X church in Appleton, WI on Thursday July 27, 2017.
