VIRGINIA BEACH, VA Myrtle E. (Stein) Grove, 100, formerly of Red Lion, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Sentara Village, Virginia Beach. She was the wife of the late Samuel H. Grove. Mrs. Grove was born on September 24, 1913, in Adamsville, York Township, a daughter of the late Henry G. and Minnie (Gross) Stein. She graduated from Red Lion High School in 1932 and was employed as a receptionist for the Burg Funeral Home, Inc. in Red Lion for many years, and had also worked at the former Shaffer's Lamp and Gift Shop and Mitzel's Grocery Store, both in Red Lion. She was an 85-year member of Bethany United Methodist Church and Sunday school in Red Lion, where she was one of the oldest members of the church. Myrtle leaves behind a daughter, Jill G. Fry and her husband W. Lee Fry of Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, Jack Stein Grove, PhD of Tavernier, Fla.; two grandchildren, Garth Fry and Tara Becker and her husband Ron; and two great-grandchildren, Ava Lee Becker and Matthaus Becker. She was the last of six siblings. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Bethany United Methodist Church, 121 W. Broadway, Red Lion, with her pastor, the Rev. Ron Doverspike officiating, assisted by the Rev. Stephanie Sechrist. There will be no viewing. Burial will be in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
