On June 8, 2024, the world said goodbye to a beloved member of the New York community, Nakima Tucker. Nakima was born on November 15, 1929, and lived a fulfilling life surrounded by love and laughter.

Nakima was a dedicated teacher who spent many years shaping young minds before retiring in 1985. Her passion for education was only matched by her love for helping others. She could often be found giving back to the community, volunteering her time at local charities and organizations.

When Nakima wasn't busy making a difference in the lives of others, she could be found at church, where her faith was a central part of her life. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her four children, Tiana, Jesse, Paulette, and Shamella, who brought her immense joy and pride.

In her free time, Nakima loved to relax with a crochet hook in hand, creating beautiful pieces that will be treasured by her loved ones for years to come. Her creativity and talent knew no bounds.

She is survived by her six grand-children, Samir, Malik, Safwon , Aaliyah, Caroline, and Dale whom she loved very much.

Although Nakima is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed, but her memory will bring smiles to those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
