Nancy Cherry JohnsonClarksville, TNNancy Cherry Johnson, 84, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at her residence.Nancy was born on August 6, 1932, in Stewart County, TN to the late Willie Russell Butts and Sadie Wilson Butts. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Axel F. Johnson, Jr.; brothers, Morris Butts, Acree Butts, Ray Butts, and Nathan Butts; and sisters, Ethelene Butts, Magalene Wyatt, Eula Ellis, and Willie Mae Balthrop.Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Brother Paul Edwards officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 14, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.Nancy was a County Commissioner. She worked for many years at Josten's. She was a member of Wyatt's Chapel United Methodist Church in Dover, TN.Nancy is survived by three daughters, Sherry Ann Orlowski Prentice of Clarksville, TN, Deborah Sue Putt of Spencerville, Tn, and Mae Norvell of Clarksville, TN; six grandchildren, April Matoskly (Bryan), Alie Redd (Trina), Elliott Putt, Eugene Harper (Kendra), Rheanna Putt, and Christopher Putt; five great-grandchildren, Brittany Jones (Jesse), Taylor Putt, Meaghan Pare Chance, Jaem Jones, II, and Nevaeh Harper; and six great great-grandchildren, Quayarra Beers, Merrick Jones, Kaleah Jones, Maverick Jones, Lyrick Jones, and Morgan Jones.Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.Arrangements entrusted to Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, 1510 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN 37040.
