Nancy Jane AllisonSan AngeloNancy Jane Allison went to be with her Lord on Aug. 15, 2017. Service for her is at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, at Harper Funeral Home, San Angelo, Texas. Interment is at 4:15 p.m. in Sutton County Cemetery immediately following the service.Nancy Jane Allison was born on Aug. 18, 1926, in Commerce, Texas, to Harry Gordon Long and Nancy "Nannie" Bess Long. Nancy had two brothers, John G. Long and Harry Long. Both preceded her in death. Nancy has one sister, Dorothy "Dot" Cody of Garland, Texas.Nancy graduated from East Texas State Teacher's College, caught the A train to Sonora to start teaching first grade in 1947. Nancy taught her students the "3-R's" and they taught her to sing "Strawberry Roan".Nancy met Reggie Trainer at the Sonora Post Office. They were married July 19, 1947 until his death on Oct. 5, 1965. They had two children, Harry James Trainer and Regina Ann Sledge. Nancy was then married to Sam Houston Allison on Aug. 3, 1967 until his death in 1982.Nancy loved traveling, reading and being a good friend. Nancy attended Southland Baptist Church.Nancy is survived by her son, Harry and his wife, Cindy; her daughter, Regina and her husband, Kenneth; her granddaughter, Morgan Trainer Chegwidden and her husband, Jason; and her extended family of Allisons, Longs, Codys, Powers, Trainers and friends.In lieu of flowers, please donate to Meals for the Elderly or the City of San Angelo Animal Services.Family and friends can sign the online register book at harper-funeralhome.com.
