Nancy Koons, 71Muncie - Nancy Koons, 71, Muncie, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017, in Ruskin, Florida.She was born on February 21, 1946, to James and Sara Maxine (Dabe) Rawlinson. She graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1964, then went on to earn both a Bachelors and Master's Degree from Ball State University. She worked for the Muncie Community Schools and was the librarian at Grissom Elementary for over 25 years. Nancy married Robert L. Koons on December 31, 1964. Nancy's greatest joys in life were her 2 sons, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She always put her children and grandchildren first in many instances in her life.Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Robert, son Gregg (wife Lori) and grandchildren Lauren, Victor and Rosalind and 3 great grandchildren all from Virginia Beach, Virginia; and son Kregg (wife Mary) and grandchildren Daxton, Dalton and Duncan of Yorktown; brother Tom Rawlinson with several nieces and a nephew.Nancy was preceded in death by her father, mother and brother Sanford Simpson.Her ashes will be placed at the Elm Ridge Cemetery next to her family.No services will be held.
