Metzler, Nancy Nancy Metzler died the same way she lived--with dignity, grace, and class on July 31st, 2017 surrounded by family in her home in Fountain Hills Arizona at the age of 81. Nancy is survived by Philip Metzler, her loving husband of 20 years and her four children Richard J (Kathy) Biederbeck, Daniel Biederbeck, Diane (Michael) Knickerbocker and Elizabeth "Betsy" (James) Heinz, as well as Phillip's children, Philip (Tammy), Peter (Michelle), and Dari (Mike) as well as 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was a beloved sister to Bill, Dan, and Elizabeth as well as Skip and Kay. Nancy was born on July 18, 1936 in the Twin Cities of Minnesota to Marie and George Kolar but adopted and raised by her mother and daddy, George Torgersen. She married Richard Biederbeck in 1957 and they were blessed with what she called the perfect family two boys and two girls. In 1974, the family picked up and moved their big hopes and dreams to what was then a small place- Mesa, Arizona. They risked much when they bought a small appliance company, but together they turned Spencer's TV and Appliance into an Arizona success story. Nancy was passionate about many things and excelled at whatever she set her mind to. She was an accomplished seamstress, knitter, quilter and gardener. She enjoyed "car club" and bargain shopping. She loved cooking and was truly ahead of her time with her tastes and culinary talent. She loved to go RVing and traveling the world with Phillip. When she wasn't gallivanting with Phil, she spent her time with family and friends too numerous to count. Everyone she met loved her right up to the end, including all the nurses in the hospital. We can all hear her saying with a gleam in her eye and chin out "I love you all, now quit fussing about me and get on with your life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Pregnancy Care Center of Chandler at 590 N Alma School Rd, Chandler AZ 85224.
