NANCY PLEUNE KIEFHABER Nancy Pleune Kiefhaber, 84, of Wilmington, NC passed away peacefully Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Davis Health Care Center with her family by her side. Nancy was born on March 19, 1932 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Chester and Irene Pleune. She is also preceded in death by a son-in-law John Wojciki. She is survived by her husband of 56 years Ed Kiefhaber; three children Karen Heinecke, Jim Kiefhaber and Pam Bolton and their spouses Jayne Kiefhaber and Mark Bolton; five grandchildren Andy Kiefhaber, Nancy Schneider, Caitlin Wojciki, Cassie Wojciki and JJ Wojciki; and 2 great-grandchildren Sophia Schneider and Austin Kiefhaber. Nancy graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Nutritional Science, and was a lifelong member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She interned at the Mayo Clinic and worked at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids as a dietician for several years. She married Ed and then spent her life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was an avid volunteer with the Cape Fear Literacy Council, AAUW, New Hanover School System, St. Andrews Covenant Presbyterian Church, as well as numerous other church and civic organizations. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, December 3, 2016 at St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church 1416 Market St., Wilmington, NC 28401. Reception immediately following at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401 or the Cape Fear Literacy Council, 1012 S. 17th St., Wilmington, NC 28401.
