AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Nancy Lee Scranage, 75, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014, due to heart failure. Nancy was born on July 9, 1938, in Elgin, Illinois, to the late Leona and Richard Rea Mengeling. She moved to Winter Haven, Fla., in 1967. She became a member of Grace Lutheran Church in 1968, where she was active in the Church and the School. She served on the Finance Committee early on and was a Girl Scout Leader at Grace Lutheran for 9 years. Recently, she crocheted items for the Grace Women's Guild annual bazaar, and also baby afghans that are being used in Baby Packs going to missions in other countries. Nancy worked many years for the Davidson of Dundee Citrus Company before retiring. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Dan Scranage, of Auburndale, Fla., and formerly of Ashley, Indiana. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Mengeling (Rosemary); her son, Jim Reynolds (Kathy); her daughters, Teri Ogle (Jamie), Karen Ball (Kevin), and Kelly Norris, all of Winter Haven, Fla., 3 stepsons and 3 stepdaughters. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 6, at 1:30 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 327 Avenue C, SE in Winter Haven. A memorial service will follow at 2p.m. Immediately following the service, there will be a committal service at Lakeside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace Lutheran School Scholarship Fund, 327 Avenue C, SE Winter Haven, Florida, 33880.
