Donnelly, Jr., Nathan "Mickey" J.A life well lived is a precious gift, of hope and strength and grace, from someone who has made our world a brighter, better place. Our hearts were broken on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 when our father Nathan "Mickey" J. Donnelly, Jr., 88, of Nichols went to his heavenly home and was reunited with our mom Carolyn. Mickey will be greatly missed by his children: Janet Schuster of Ballston Lake, NY; Kevin (Tamara) Donnelly of Nichols; Darryl (Debra) Donnelly of Stevensville, Pa; his special grandchildren: Anthony Schuster, Hannah (Luke) Woodburn, Kristen Donnelly, Taylor Donnelly, Dalton Donnelly, Dillon Donnelly; great grandsons: Landon and Nash Woodburn; his sisters: Margaret Kossakowski and Joyce Kolada; a sister-in-law Mabel Manchester; several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Mickey was predeceased by his wife Carolyn; and siblings; Myrt, Bob, Jerry, Jean and Pat. Mickey was born on October 2, 1928 in Johnson City a son of Rose (Kiernan) and Nathan J. Donnelly, Sr. On November 17, 1951 he married Carolyn Bean and together they shared 58 years of marriage until her passing on February 26, 2010. Mickey will be remembered as a well-known and respected dairy farmer. He was long-time member of Farm Bureau ~ received the Outstanding Farmer Award and was active in the Tioga County Dairy Princess program. In addition, he was a 45 year member of the Owego Moose, a member of ASCS and served on the Production Credit Board. He enjoyed bowling and visiting with friends and neighbors over a cup of coffee. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and time of sharing memories on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 4 to 8 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A funeral service and celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 22, at 10 am at the funeral chapel.
