Nathaniel Thomas, 93, of Savanah, Georgia, passed on November 06, 2023. Nathaniel was born on February 02, 1930. He was the son of Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Lucile Golden. He attended the Chatham County Public School system, and graduated from Richard Arnold High School in 1969, where he was known for playing football. Richard was employed at the Chatham Steel Company for 45 years, where he was recognized as an outstanding employee. During his 45 years of employment, he was never late. One of his greatest moments at Chatham Steel was when President Barack Obama visited, and Richard was able to shake his hand and have photos taken with our nation's first Black President.
Richard was always taught to put God first in whatever you do, and he practiced that by being an avid seven-day Sabbath keeper. In his former years he was baptized while being a Church of God and Saints of Christ member. Later, in his adult life he found a new church home and family with West Broad Street Seven Day Adventist church. In 2009, he was elevated to the office of Deacon in his local church. He was honored on Senior Day at the West Broad Seventh Day Adventist Church, on September 14, 2019.
He leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Sheila Mae Golden, one niece Felicia Kim Golden, one greatniece Ashley M Mayes, one daughter, Latreall Maddox. Two sisters-in-law: Delores Golden and Emma Cook, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
