YORK Mr. Nathaniel Ruth, 67, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, in the York Hospital. He was the husband of Michele Kearse Ruth. Mr. Ruth was born on November 21, 1947, in Hampton, S.C., the son of Reverend Aiken R. Ruth, Sr. and the late Gladys (Rakes) Ruth. He retired from Caterpillar Inc. after 30 years of service and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by two sons, Marlin and Anthony Ruth (wife Kennette), and two daughters, Ashley and Jaleasha Ruth, all of York; five brothers, Aiken Jr., Eddie Sr. (wife Thanayi), and Sidney Ruth, all of Harrisburg, Elester Ruth (wife LaQuinette) of Alabama, and Ronald Washington of South Carolina; six sisters, Aiken Adraine Ruth, Shirley Carter (husband Marion), and Patricia Graham (husband Lloyd), all of York, Mary Orr (husband Larry), Hettie Dobson (husband R.C.), and Pearly Mae Johnson, all of South Carolina; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; father-in-law, Clary Kearse (Janette); two brothers-in- law, Zachary Kearse (Vickie) and Brian Kearse, Sr. (Earnestine); sister-in-law, Jeanne Wars (Joseph); and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys (Rakes) Ruth; a son, Nathaniel Lee Ruth; and mother-in-law, Jacqueline Kearse. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 27, at 11 a.m. at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 629 S. Pershing Ave., York. Viewing will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Mark Kearse will officiate. Boulding Mortuary, Inc., 471 Madison Ave., York, is in charge of arrangements.
