It is with profound sadness and love that we share the passing of Nelsie Annette Bezares, a cherished mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. After a courageous battle with cancer, Nelsie passed peacefully on January 4, 2026, surrounded by family at the age of 54.
Born on August 21, 1971, in Paterson, New Jersey, to Juan and Carmen Bezares, Nelsie brought joy and light to everyone who knew her. From an early age, she learned and communicated with friends and family in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language. Among her extended family, she was known as one of the most beloved nieces, always bringing laughter to every gathering.
After graduating from Passaic County Technical High School, Nelsie built a life filled with love for eating out and found joy in amusement parks. She spent many years in the Passaic County area before fulfilling her dream of owning a home in Orlando, Florida—a place where she created lasting memories with her family and friends.
Nelsie’s greatest pride and joy was her son, Michael Galan, who was the center of her world. She is also survived by her mother, Carmen Bezares; her sister, Mayra Bezares; her brother, Juan Bezares; and her cherished nephews and niece, Dalton and Brittney Arroyo and Gabriel Bezares. She now joins her father, Juan Bezares, in eternal peace.
Nelsie will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and her unwavering love for family. Her personality and grace touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
The family will hold an intimate gathering at her Orlando home to honor her life and share prayers. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society, so that others may find hope in the fight that Nelsie faced so bravely.
