Nicole Cunningham, a beloved member of the Fort Worth community, passed away on (date) at the age of (xx).
She was known for her infectious laughter, compassionate heart, and unwavering strength. Nicole touched the lives of many personally and professionally with her kindness and generosity. Her spirit will be remembered for years to come.
Born on November 24, 1970, in Milwaukee, WI to the union of James Alex and Martha Ann Cunningham (nee Moore). She lived in Milwaukee until she and her mother relocated to Miami, FL in 1984. There she received her formal education at American High School graduating in 1988. In October 1993, Nicole began her career with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Miami, FL. With this new endeavor she traveled across the nation working in Seattle, WA, Dublin, CA, Victorville, CA, Williamsburg, SC, Petersburg, VA and Fort Worth, TX. Nicole thrived within the BOP becoming a Human Resource Manager in 2005 and ending her career in that position. She retired in 2018 wherein she was a caretaker for her mother until her passing in 2020. She enjoyed retirement to the fullest whilst traveling, shopping, fishing and spending time with her family to include the apples of her eyes, her fur babies Chloe and S’mores. Nicole attended church for many years but received Christ later in life after joining the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Petersburg, VA under the leadership of Pastor Lamont Hobbs. She was formally baptized and gave her life to Christ in 2014.
She was preceded in death by all Paternal and Maternal Grandparents, her father James Alex (Doris) Cunningham Sr, mother Martha Ann Cunningham.
She leaves to mourn her, two brothers James (Karon) Cunningham of Haslet, TX and Kerwyn Cunningham Sr of Fort Worth, TX, her Goddaughter Ashley (Nicholas) Quinn of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Two nieces LaToya Williams of Milwaukee, WI, Kayla Roosevelt-Cunningham of Miami, FL. Five nephews Kerwyn Cunningham Jr and Keenan Cunningham of Milwaukee, WI, James Cunningham lll, Joseph Cunningham and Joshua Cunningham, of Brooklyn Park, MN. A host of great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Her best friends Regena (Ben) Smith, Churee Robinson, Tiffany Moore and Ron Paul.
Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she has impacted. She will be deeply missed by her friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
