Nigel Huggins was born on August 14, 1969 to Evelyn Edwards (née Alcantara) and the late Norman Huggins at Port Of Spain General Hospital in Trinidad and Tobago. At an early age he left his birthplace and migrated to Brooklyn, NY with his parents and his sister Kathy Ann.
He attended school in Brooklyn for a period of time until Far Rockaway became his new home. There he attended St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic School and Far Rockaway High School. During his childhood he traveled back to Trinidad to visit as well taking road trips to Canada to visit family. This is where his love of long drives comes from.
After high school he relocated to Florida to live with his father. His love of cars, mechanics, as well as music grew during this time. He was very handy and knew how to build things. He returned to New York in the early 90's before the untimely death of his sister Kathy Ann in 1992. He was a family oriented man and expressed his love for his mother, wife, children, and siblings. He would do anything for them and would give his last if he had to.
Through his mechanical work and his kind hearted giving natere, he fostered several relationships that were maintained to this day. Nigel maintained employment as a mechanic throughout the years and was employed doing what he loved the most with the Port Authority. His second love, music was displayed during various West Indian celebrations in which his musical love was expressed and his Trinidadian pride.
