Nina Mae Farmer of Creston passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013. She was 71. She was born on April 12, 1942, to the late Lettie Eldreth. In addition to her mother, Nina was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Huton, and brothers, John Eldreth and Elmer Eldreth. Nina is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Thomas Farmer; daughters and sons-in-law, Bebbie and Frankey Shupe of Mountain City, Tenn., and Sara and Jay Greer of Greensboro; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Peggy Farmer of Creston; sisters, Irene Cox of Mountain City, Tenn., Erleen Farmer of Jefferson and Shirley Cornett of West Jefferson; brother, Fred Eldreth of Mountain City, Tenn.; grandchildren, Chris Morley and wife Sarah of Mountain City, Tenn.; Jennifer Medley and husband Chris of Creston; great grandchildren, Toby Miller, Ethan Morley, Brandon Davis, Austin Medley and Leland Morley; 14 nieces and nephews; special friends, Patsy and Benny Coe, Kathy Weaver, Richard McCoy and members of Pond Mountain Fire Department and many more. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Spencer Roark and Rev. Mike Farmer to officiate. Special music will be provided by Middle Fork. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, at the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens of Jefferson. Pallbearers are John Cornett, Richard McCoy, Hunter McCoy, Jack McCoy, Larry Nichols, Junior Nichols, Terry Woods and Whitey Farmer.
