Noah Sherman Way, 74Noah Sherman Way, 74, died Monday, December 23, 2013, at his home in Thorntown.Mr. Noah S. Way was born on March 6, 1939, in Peru, Indiana, a son of the late Wilbur Richard and Velma Eclista (Mongosa) Way. Noah moved from Peru to Thorntown, at the age of six, where he had since resided. He was a 1957, graduate of Thorntown High School. On September 27, 1959, he was married to Virginia Lois (Bragg) Way in the Thorntown Wesleyan Church. Mrs. Way survives.Noah had worked for Guy Hawkins for four years. He then was employed at Eli Lilly in Lafayette where he retired as an engineer after 31 years of service, in 1993. Noah was a long-time member of the Thorntown United Methodist Church and involved in community activities. His many interests were demonstrated by his involvement in numerous projects such as helping to build a new Thorntown Fire Department facility, acquiring Thorntown Park play equipment, and promoting the heritage trail program. He supported the Boone County Caring Center, was a bird watcher and nature lover, and took pride in helping fellow seniors cope with challenges in their lives.Noah was a member of the Miami Indian Tribe in Peru, Indiana. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf. He also had an avid interest in the role of trains in society and passed spare time with HO Model Trains as an extension of that interest.Noah's legacy is that of a tremendous husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana, with Pastor Jim Kyle and Rev. Karen Ottjes officiating.Visitation is planned from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2013, at the mortuary in Lebanon. Interment will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown, Indiana.Survivors are wife: Mrs. Virginia L. Way, Thorntown, Indiana; two children: Ms. Sandra J. Richardson, Lebanon, Indiana, Mr. Brad D. Way and wife, Jana, Thorntown, Indiana; three sisters: Ms. Lois G. Hammonds, Lebanon, Indiana, Mrs. Gloria A. Watts and husband, Glenn, Zionsville, Indiana, Mrs. Marilyn E. Rumsey and husband, Don, Marion, Indiana; five grandchildren: Ashley R. Small and husband, Josh, Atlanta, Indiana, Tyler A. Richardson and wife, Carrie Ann, Lebanon, Ryan D. Way and wife, Cristen, Thorntown, Indiana, Collin M. Way, Advance, Indiana, McKenna J. Way, Thorntown, Indiana; great-grandson: Charles B.
